We received this message about an hour ago (1/2/13) from a family that has a message to spread about their beloved dog. Our hearts go out for the unnecessary loss of this life.

Here is their message:

“To Whom It may Concern:

Hello, my name is Stacy Fields & I am writing you today because my dog, Kincaid, was shot by a police officer in Baltimore City yesterday morning. The officers were chasing a suspect through our alley around 11 am yesterday, the suspect ran into our yard & into our basement way. My dog ran outside and was barking. He never got within 5 ft of the officer when my dad ran outside. The officer told my dad to get the dog & as he reached out to grab his harness the officer shot 6 times, hitting Kincaid 3 times. He was shot twice in the head & once in the body. Not only did he shoot my dog but could have easily shot my dad too. Anything you can do to help get this story out is greatly appreciated.
